🎮 How to Play Checkers

Checkers is one of the oldest strategy games, played on an 8×8 board with 12 pieces per player. The goal is to capture all your opponent's pieces or block them from moving.

  1. Movement: Regular pieces move diagonally forward, one square at a time.
  2. Jumping: Capture opponent's pieces by jumping over them diagonally. Multiple jumps are possible in one turn.
  3. Kinging: When a piece reaches the opponent's back row, it becomes a "King" and can move backwards too.

💡 Checkers Strategies

  • Control the center: Pieces in the center have more movement options.
  • Protect your back row: Keeping pieces on your back row prevents opponent from getting Kings.
  • Force trades when ahead: If you have more pieces, trade evenly to maintain your advantage.
  • Create Kings early: Kings are much more powerful—prioritize getting them.

🧠 Brain Benefits

Checkers develops strategic thinking, planning ahead, and the ability to anticipate opponent moves. Despite simple rules, it requires deep thinking to master. It's excellent for all ages—easy enough for children to learn, complex enough to challenge adults.
