How to Play Boggle
Connect adjacent letters (including diagonals) to form words. Longer words score more points.
Tip: Look for common word endings like -ing, -ed, -er, -ly on the grid.
💡 Word Grid Strategy
- Trace paths, do not read lines. Letters connect in any direction including diagonally, so the word you want is rarely written in a straight line.
- Start from high-value letters. Build outward from an unusual letter and you will find words others walk straight past.
- Extend what you already found. If CAT scores, check for CATS, CHAT, and CHATS using neighbouring tiles.
- Anchor on common pairs. Finding TH, CH, ST or ER adjacent gives you a spine to build several words around.
- Take the short words when time is tight. Three- and four-letter words add up faster than hunting one long word that may not exist.
🧠 What Word Grid Builds
This is vocabulary retrieval under time pressure combined with spatial pathfinding, since every word must trace a legal route through adjacent tiles. The two demands interfere with each other in a way that makes the game genuinely harder than either alone. Speed comes mostly from learning to see letter pairs rather than individual letters.
