How to Play Pattern Completion
A 3×3 grid has one cell missing. Pick the shape that correctly completes the pattern in all rows and columns.
Tip: Check both the row and column rules before selecting your answer.
💡 Playing Pattern Fun With Your Child
- Say the pattern out loud together. "Red, blue, red, blue…" makes the repeat audible, and children hear patterns before they see them.
- Start with two-element repeats. ABAB is secure well before ABCABC or ABBABB.
- Ask what comes next, then what came before. Working backwards is harder and shows whether the rule is really understood.
- Find patterns off the screen. Stripes on clothing and tiles on a floor make the idea general rather than tied to the game.
