💡 Minesweeper Strategy

• Use the 1-touching-one rule. When a 1 has exactly one unrevealed neighbour, that neighbour is certainly a mine. Flag it and move on.
• When a number is satisfied, clear the rest. If a 2 already has two flags around it, every other neighbouring cell is safe to open.
• Learn the 1-2-1 pattern. Along a wall, a 1-2-1 sequence always means mine-safe-mine. It appears in almost every board.
• Work the edges and corners. Border cells have fewer neighbours, so their numbers constrain far more tightly than central ones.
• Open space, not isolated cells. When forced to guess, pick a cell touching an unexplored region — it is likelier to cascade and give you a whole new area.

🧠 What Minesweeper Builds

Minesweeper is deduction under partial information: every number is a constraint, and most boards can be solved to certainty without a single guess. The recurring patterns — 1-2-1, 1-2-2-1 — reward pattern memory alongside logic, which is why experienced players move so much faster rather than merely more confidently. The rare forced guess is a genuine probability decision, not a failure of technique.
