💡 Klondike Solitaire Strategy

• Always play from the tableau before the stock. Every card you turn over in a column is new information; a card drawn from the stock is not.
• Prioritise the longest hidden column. Uncovering face-down cards is the actual objective — the foundations take care of themselves once the board is open.
• Do not rush aces and twos to the foundation. Low cards are useful in the tableau for receiving alternating-colour builds, and sending them up early strands mid-range cards.
• Only empty a column if you have a King ready. An empty space with no King to fill it is a dead slot and often loses the game.
• Think before moving a King into an empty column. Once placed it will not move again, so choose the King whose suit gives your other builds somewhere to go.

Klondike rewards forward planning far more than its reputation suggests — a large share of deals are winnable, but only with the right move order. The core tension, between banking a card safely on a foundation and keeping it available in the tableau, is a genuine trade-off between short-term and long-term gain. It remains the most played card game in the world for good reason.
