How to Play Pyramid Solitaire
Remove pairs of cards that add up to 13. Kings (worth 13) can be removed alone. Clear the pyramid to win.
Tip: Always look for King plays first, then focus on the deepest unblocked pairs.
💡 Pyramid Solitaire Strategy
- Look for the pairs that unblock the most. Removing two cards that each free a card beneath them is worth far more than any other pair.
- Kings go alone. A King is worth 13 by itself and needs no partner, so clear them the moment they are exposed.
- Plan the stock before you use it. Once you pass through the waste pile your options narrow sharply — know what you are hunting for.
- Count from the bottom row up. The pyramid is only solvable if the lower rows come apart in the right order; work out that order before making easy top matches.
- Ace is 1, Jack is 11, Queen is 12. Getting these values wrong is the most common reason a pair is missed.
